National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB)

Operating in 50 states and 5 US territories, NCARB has a lot of information to cover and a lot of events to advertise to insure that Architects stay up to date on the state-by-state requirements of Architectural licensing. Insuring that the user can get through the volumus documentation contained on the site and find what they’re looking for

Structural Integrity

Navigating through a lot of information requires well structured information architecture, both in terms of organization and navigation so that you can identify and access the resources available. The main navigation has a clickable “Mega Menu” allowing you to access every piece of information directly from the dropdown menu. The side menus can expand as many tiers as necessary depending on how much child content exists. Listings for information, press releases and events also exist.

Visualizing Requirements

The licensing requirements tool is one of the most ambitious post-Flash interactive applications that I’ve built. It’s an interactive map of the United States and territories made of Clickable SVG graphics that will populate information from an API based on the selected state. The ‘Explore’ view can even compare the licensing requirements of two separate states
